Challenge Rifts offer an alternative way to ascend without claiming a beacon. Rifts allow teams to face off in a 3v3 arena battle, independent from the rest of the match. There are four rift tokens per floor, which means only eight teams may participate.
If you lose your Challenge Rift, your match is over. Winning a Challenge Rift gives you the automatic right to ascend, as well as other rewards like your enemy team’s loot and three mythic chests to open.
If no one accepts your challenge, your team will get a free pass to ascend to the next floor.
