How do I add friends?

You can add friends through Steam using one of these 3 methods. Please note that if you have a new Steam account and have not made any purchases on Steam, Method 2 will be the only option to add friends. These restrictions are removed if you have spent at least $5 on Steam.

Method 1: Using a Friend Code

• Go to your Friends and Chat window, then click "Add a friend".
• Share your unique friend code with your friend.
• Your friend will enter your code to find your profile.
• Once your profile appears, they can click "Add as friend," and you will both appear on each other's friend list after you accept the request. 

Method 2: Sending a Quick Invite Link 

• In the "Add a friend" section, generate a quick invite link.
• Send this link to your friend.
• When they click the link, they can accept your friend request.
• Quick Invite links are one time use links so please make sure that if you get a new quick invite link for each friend you want to add. 

Method 3: Searching for Their Profile Name 

• In the "Add a friend" section, type your friend's profile name into the search bar.
• Click on their correct profile from the search results.
• Click the "Add Friend" button on their profile to send the request.

Important Considerations

Account Requirements:

• Your account must have spent a minimum of $5 USD in the Steam store to remove restrictions and send friend requests. 

Accepting Invites:

When someone sends you a friend request, it will appear in your notifications or pending invites section, and you will need to accept it to become friends.
